Philippine Mountain Coffee Collection Inc.
Delicacies Village
With quality that concentrates more on substance than status, Philippine Mountain Coffee gives genuine coffee lovers a really good reason to enjoy their brew.
The adventure begins in choosing-their menu takes you through the slopes of Cordillera, the islands of Negros and the fields of Bukidnon. Their native coffee, available from P30 to P40 per steaming cup, comes from different parts of the country. These ethnic beans are charcoal roasted by the coffee shop and then labeled according to their place of origin. You could then choose from the Tagaytay Baraco, the Malay Balay blend, the rare Kanlaon brew, or the extra strong Kalinga Gold-whatever you end up sipping, you are assured only of the finest ingredients, and the indigenous care poured in producing these locally-grown beans.
Their iced coffee drinks (P60) likewise capture a distinct native flavor. They blend their coffee with whipped cream mixed with pastillas de leche, a famous Pinoy delicacy. They use this same special ingredient to produce their "fresh cups," which they blend with carabao's milk and offer in Tiboli Cotobato and Mt. Apo Kidapawan flavors.
Besides coffee, this proudly Pinoy stall offers delicious hot chocolate (P50) and pan de sal sandwiches (P50) stuffed with your choice of filling: quesong puti and olive oil, guava jam and cream cheese, queso de bola, jamon de china, pork/ chicken adobo or porkloin ham-again, flavors that are both homey and exotic to the Pinoy tongue.
What truly makes Philippine Mountain Coffee the ultimate coffee drinking experience is that while you discover of some of our country's richest flavors, you also support the people who grow them. Coffee this good only reminds us that sometimes the most valuable treasures could be found in our own backyards. We are just too busy looking elsewhere to notice.
The store is an open air coffee shop which also sells ethnic beans for P130 per 150 grams, along with a variety of other products.
The Philippine Mountain Coffee is a joint undertaking of the coffee growing communities of the Gabay at Buhay Foundation, and the Philippine Mountain Coffee Collection Inc.
