Picky Moms' Seafoods and Deli
Delicacies Village
Despite its humble size, some of the Philippines' finest deserts, delicacies and odd but delicious fare can be found here. Their bestseller for instance, is the Philippine Civet coffee or coffee alamid (large bottle P950), the famed coffee bean that comes from within wild cats.
Inside you will see rows and rows of bottled goods, many coming from as far as Iligan, where owner Aileen Elbo was born. The store is also famous for its Suka Waykurat, which means "not spicy" in Visayan and Suka Pinakurat, which means the opposite. They also feature natural coconut vinegar from Quezon, Ilocano sugarcane vinegar, balsamic vinegar made from the duhat fruit, and a refreshingly unique fusion of native and natural flavors like vinegar honey mix concentrate, cashew butter spread, cashew calamansi honey, organic lemon grass, natural powdered pineapple and tangerine orange extract.
Besides their stock of assorted Bangus Dagupan specialties: bangus sisig, shanghai and kilawin to name a few, Picky Mom's also hosts an extensive dessert basket. They have the soft and chewy Philippine Mango biscuits from Ritz Treats, mango, cashew and durian tarts and yema and loads of other temptingly sweet stuff. The delicacy stand also sells classic Pinoy favorites like bottled taba ng talangka, fried garlic/ onion bits, casuy, Vigan bagnet/ longganisa and chicharon. Faced with all these luscious goodies, perhaps the only trouble with Picky Mom's Food Stall is simply not knowing what to pick.
